About Dr. Maria João Pereira

Dr. Maria João Pereira is an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist with over 10 years of post-specialization clinical practice. She completed her specialist training at one of Portugal’s leading medical institutions, Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra.

She is recognized for extensive expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, having performed more than 55,000 procedures. Her clinical practice encompasses the diagnosis and management of a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal disorders.

Dr. Pereira actively contributes to scientific research, with publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and presentations at international conferences. Her areas of particular interest include Digestive Endoscopy and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
