Scientific lecture on reassessing ASCVD risk
University Hospital Sharjah organized a scientific lecture on reassessing ASCVD risk, highlighting the role of LDL-C and Lp(a) in cardiovascular risk assessment.
The lecture was chaired by Dr. Osama Mahdi and attended by Professor Ioanna Gouni from the University of Cologne, Germany, with the participation of the hospital’s medical professionals and staff.
Sharjah Customs Container Center Event
As part of University Hospital Sharjah’s commitment to promoting health awareness and strengthening its community role, the hospital team participated in an awareness event held at the Container Customs Center, as part of the hospital’s ongoing efforts to spread health education and raise awareness of the importance of prevention and early treatment.
During the event, the Physiotherapy Team delivered a specialized awareness session highlighting the importance of physiotherapy and its vital role in improving quality of life, reducing chronic pain, and enhancing mobility and functional capacity, in addition to its role in preventing work-related and physical strain injuries.
This participation reflects University Hospital Sharjah’s commitment to supporting community initiatives and strengthening partnerships with various entities, contributing to the development of a healthier and more informed community, and reaffirming the hospital’s dedication to delivering comprehensive healthcare services beyond the hospital setting.
Hospital Disinfection & Sanitization
At the University Hospital Sharjah, we take proper precautions and procedures to lower the number of germs to a safe level by cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing. Disinfection itself refers to killing nearly 100 percent of all kind of germs on surfaces or objects, according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention.
We work hard to guarantee a safer and healthy environment to all our patients, visitors and employees, therefore UHS is being sanitized on a daily basis. Specially the most touchable surfaces such as: counters, chairs, door nobs, lift buttons, ATMS, vending machines and many others are being sanitized every one hour.

The team at University Hospital Sharjah organized a workshop titled “Procedural Anesthesia: Towards Safe Practice”, attended by a distinguished group of healthcare professionals eager to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of procedural anesthesia.
Through hands-on training and interactive discussions led by experts, the workshop successfully equipped participants with the essential skills and knowledge to ensure patient safety during anesthesia procedures. The sessions also focused on the latest international protocols and standards in anesthesia and encouraged the exchange of best practices among participants to improve the quality of healthcare delivery.
This initiative is part of University Hospital Sharjah’s ongoing efforts to enhance medical competencies and develop professional training programs, ensuring the provision of safe and effective healthcare for all patients.

The Nursing-Education Department at University Hospital Sharjah recently delivered an engaging workshop titled: “Nursing Leadership in Action: Building Stronger Teams for Better Care”, focusing on Shaping a Healthy & Engaged Work Environment.
The workshop equipped nurse leaders and nurses, whether currently leading or preparing for future leadership roles with essential skills in communication, leadership styles, coaching, team-building, conflict resolution, and sharpening clinical judgment, while emphasizing strategies for creating a positive work environment.

University Hospital Sharjah team participated in the awareness day organized by the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs, which aimed to provide health education for pilgrims before they travel for Hajj. Ms. Toujan Hassan, a Certified Diabetes Educator, delivered an informative lecture offering essential advice for diabetic patients during Hajj. Additionally, our team conducted a group of medical screenings for the attendees.

University Hospital Sharjah team participated in a health event at the Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah, aiming to foster health awareness and education. Our team provided consultations with the UHS diabetes educator, focusing on diabetes prevention and how to manage the condition if diagnosed. Additionally, they provided a group of medical screenings to the employees.

Using The Lucina Neonatal and maternal childbirth simulator, the training aims to hone our team's skills and knowledge to ensure the best possible outcomes for both mother and child.

University Hospital in Sharjah organized an awareness lecture on " World Thalassemia Day " to help reduce the spread of this disease. Millions of people worldwide are affected by thalassemia, making it essential to raise awareness about the different types of the disease and the necessary tests for its diagnosis. The lecture also included information on how to manage the disease, available treatment options, and the provision of ongoing support for patients.
